The Office of Academic Services is a student support facility. The Director and
Associates of the Office provide assistance with advising, scheduling and registration of
courses, and serve as student advocates with other University Departments. The Director of Academic Services, Ana M.
Braga, works with four
full-time associates and five student assistants to coordinate all academic services for
undergraduate and graduate students. These services include the coordination of academic
records and services with other University offices, such as Admissions, Enrollment
Services, Financial Assistance, Ombudsman, Counseling and Career Placement and Housing and
Student Affairs.
The Director supervises records including alumni records and acts as a liaison to the
schools Alumni Council. The Director coordinates the Peer Counselor program, the
Faculty Mentor and the Professional Alumni Mentor programs.
The Academic Services staff consists of:
- Luis
Abella advises the
undergraduate students, maintains their academic records, and provides students with information
about scholarships, academic status and academic petitions.
Luis also assists applicants and processes all undergraduate transfer applications.
He publishes the Advising Manual and coordinates the faculty committees on
Admission and Academic Standards and Scholarships.
- Jude
Alexander assists the Directors of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies
with courses, curricula, grade rolls and other related information. She also assists graduate
applicants, processes graduate student applications, and assists the Director of Graduate
Studies with records and advising.
- Natalia
Miyar; assists new undergraduate and graduate students interested in enrolling in the
School of Architecture. She is also the Director of Explorations,
a summer program for high school students.
- Julia
Pizarro coordinates the Job Placement Program for the School.
