COUNCIL REPORT
Order the Council Report
The recently inaugurated Council Report series, published
semi-annually, features detailed case studies, critiques and insider views of
breakthrough New Urbanist projects. This unique publication offers thorough
descriptions, insightful commentary, and full-color plans and photos of projects
by the nation’s leading practitioners. Multiple commentators for each project
provide a depth and variety of peer review uncommon in publications on new
development.
The Council Report is based on the semi-annual meeting of the Council of the
Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU). At the Council meetings, leading New
Urbanists present projects to juries of their peers who offer critiques before opening up discussion to the audience. The Council meeting is "a new
type of forum for the Congress of the New Urbanism," according to Andres
Duany, a founder of the Congress of the New Urbanism.
The Council Report is published by The Town Paper, and
is sponsored primarily by the Knight Program in Community Building at University
of Miami School of Architecture.
