The Image Archives is a
collection of architectural images in various media at the University of Miami's School of Architecture.
Under the direction of Prof. Jorge Loynaz Garcia,
Curator, the long term strategy of the Image Archives is to expand and digitize the
collection selectively in all media on a relational database: currently at 5,250 digital
images. We also hold over 500 videos,
and over 150,000 slides. The Images are on Kodak Photo CD's, and Photoshopped files, which
we plan to place with other CDs on a CD Jukebox. EmbARK software
from Gallery Systems of
California is also used. The digitization process preserves the images and
distributes the images locally within the School of Architecture and the University. We
follow closely developments in US Copyright Law, particularly its recent
amendments.
It is our hope that
the resources below will assist your efforts in imaging:
Image Server
Over 6000 Architectural Images can be downloaded or used for reference browsing.
It may be linked from PCs by mapping the following network drive:
\\mac-server-02\Images
Or from Macs through G0>Connect to Server>Local>mac-server-02
A searchable database version is under development.
