Since 2008, the program has "lived" between the Castel Sant’ Angelo and the Vatican, in the Prati district of Rome.

The U-SoA Rome Center is fully-equipped with workstations, printers, large format plotter, high-speed internet, a 1500-volume reference library and a lecture mezzanine for faculty and guest lecturers. The center serves both undergraduate and graduate students in a studio-setting.

After 25 years of subletting facilities in Rome, U-SoA's Rome Center is our own facility, representing significant achievements for the Rome program. This enables participation by more students, broadens the curriculum, establishes a permanent presence in Rome, and creates new scholarship opportunities for the School’s faculty and students.

New collaborations have been created in recent years with the University of Palermo, Sapienza University, Roma Tre, the Museum of 21st Century (MAXXI), and the Cornell in Rome Program.

In 2015, the program established a Visiting Critic position that invites a guest faculty from outside the U-SoA community to teach in the program.

The Spring 2016 session included Giancarlo Bombaci and Matteo Costanzo from the award-winning, Roman architectural firm of 2A+P/A.
