The University of Miami is uniquely situated at the crossroads of North and Latin America, and its sub-tropical climate connects it to the realities of building in the Caribbean. SoA faculty have expertise in building and urban history, codes, and design in Latin America and the Caribbean. Countries that faculty have particular expertise in include Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Guatemala, and Colombia.
